(or double ending from same realtor or their team)

A good question to ask a realtor when you’re looking to sell your home is: “If you’re selling my house/condo & a buyer shows interest to buy it, whether it’s someone you already know or just met from listing my house, will you represent them as well?”

Agents who work independently sometimes represent both the seller and the buyer. Some agents also work in teams – with other agents or their own family members. Though they say their team member or spouse/sibling will help the buyer, they’re representing both sides.

This is called dual agency and is allowed in Ontario. It’s like hiring the coach of the opposing team to work for you on the biggest investment of your life. If this was your selling agent, are they really working in your best interest?
